The Detroit-based contemporary men’s brand Tayion Collection is doubling down on its successful partnership with Peerless Clothing, securing a multiyear renewal that the label hopes will serve as a strategic launchpad into new product categories.
Under the terms of the new three-year agreement, which officially goes into effect on January 1, Peerless Clothing will continue to handle the manufacturing, marketing, and distribution of Tayion Collection’s men’s tailored clothing lines across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The comprehensive licensing deal covers an expansive array of menswear essentials, including classic suits, flexible suit separates, tailored sport coats, sophisticated vests, crisp dress pants, formal tuxedos, and weather-ready overcoats and raincoats.
Distribution for the renewed collection will span major department stores and prominent specialty retailers throughout North America. Furthermore, the newly signed agreement includes a built-in option to renew for an additional three years, providing a stable, long-term foundation for both companies as they look to scale the brand’s market presence. Beyond solidifying its foothold in traditional tailored menswear, Tayion Collection intends to utilize the renewed alliance with Peerless to pivot toward broader lifestyle categories. According to company statements, the partnership lays the structural groundwork for future brand extensions into sportswear, neckwear, and a variety of other complementary product classifications.
For Montee Tayion Holland, the visionary founder and designer behind the Detroit-based brand, the renewal marks a vital milestone in the company’s trajectory. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Holland originally established Tayion in 2004, steadily building it into a respected name in contemporary menswear through a sharp focus on craftsmanship, structural tailoring, and distinct aesthetic storytelling.
Reflecting on the continued alliance, Holland emphasized the strategic value of aligning with an industry leader. "This partnership represents an important next chapter for Tayion Collection," Holland said. "Peerless has an exceptional understanding of tailored clothing and the retail landscape, and this agreement allows us to bring the Tayion aesthetic to an even broader audience."

Peerless Clothing, a titan in the tailored apparel sector, views the renewal as a testament to the brand strength and unique market positioning that Holland has cultivated over the past two decades. Dan Orwig, president of Peerless Clothing International Inc., noted that the extension is a natural evolution of a collaborative relationship that first took root in 2021.
"Tayion Collection has built a distinctive point of view in contemporary menswear, and we are pleased to expand our relationship with the brand," Orwig said. "This agreement brings together Tayion’s strong brand identity and connection with today’s consumer with Peerless’ expertise in tailored clothing, manufacturing, and retail distribution. We look forward to building the business together across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico."
The strategic architecture of the renewed agreement was guided by industry veteran Jeff Tweedy, managing director of BMBIRD Consultant, who served as an advisor for the deal. Tweedy highlighted the transformative potential the partnership holds for the independent brand within the broader retail ecosystem.
"I believe Peerless gives Tayion the platform to become a priority in men’s tailored clothing and opens the door for best-in-class licensing partners across other categories," Tweedy observed.
By maintaining its alignment with Peerless Clothing, Tayion Collection positions itself to navigate the competitive North American retail market with stability and scale. As department stores and specialty retailers continue to refine their menswear offerings in the post-pandemic retail landscape, the partnership ensures that Tayion’s signature blend of traditional tailoring and contemporary design will remain widely accessible to consumers seeking elevated menswear options from coast to coast.
