Liquid I.V. Appoints Former Poppi CMO Jenny Danzi to Lead Marketing Strategy

Electrolyte drink brand Liquid I.V. has officially appointed Jenny Danzi, formerly the chief marketing officer of prebiotic soda brand Poppi, as the head of its marketing department.

In an official statement released by the company, the Unilever-owned hydration brand confirmed that Danzi has been tapped to oversee its broader marketing, creative, and consumer teams. Her overarching brief in the new role will be to successfully unite Liquid I.V.’s science-backed foundation with modern, culture-driven brand building, according to the announcement.

Danzi brings nearly two decades of extensive industry experience in building prominent consumer brands to her new position at Liquid I.V. Prior to taking the helm of marketing at the rapidly growing electrolyte brand, she held a variety of influential marketing leadership roles at food and beverage giant PepsiCo. During her tenure at PepsiCo, her responsibilities included serving as the vice president of marketing for the company’s functional beverage business. Most recently, she served as the chief marketing officer at Poppi, a functional soda brand that has experienced a massive surge in popularity and market presence.

The leadership transition comes at a dynamic time for Liquid I.V., which has consistently looked for innovative ways to capture consumer attention in an increasingly crowded functional beverage market. The brand, known for its science-backed hydration multiplier products, has recently engaged in high-profile creative and marketing efforts, moving away from past unconventional campaigns toward precision-oriented cultural moments, such as its recent Formula 1 debut with McLaren.

By bringing in Danzi, Liquid I.V. aims to leverage her deep expertise in scaling beverage brands and navigating the fast-evolving consumer goods landscape. Her background at PepsiCo and Poppi positions her well to manage the complexities of guiding a major functional beverage brand through its next phase of growth under the Unilever umbrella. Unilever, which acquired Liquid I.V. in 2020, has continued to support the brand’s expansion as part of its health and wellness portfolio.

The appointment underscores a broader industry trend where top-tier marketing talent moves fluidly between legacy consumer packaged goods giants and high-growth challenger brands. Danzi’s experience across both traditional corporate portfolios and trendy, modern beverage startups will directly inform how Liquid I.V. communicates its value proposition to consumers who are increasingly demanding both functional efficacy and cultural relevance from the products they purchase.
