Iron Maiden Extends ‘Run for Your Lives’ Tour with Final North American Leg Ahead of Planned 2027 Break

British heavy metal titans Iron Maiden have announced they will return to North America for a third and final leg of their milestone 50th-anniversary “Run for Your Lives” tour. The newly added dates will bring the legendary band to regions of the United States and Canada that were previously unreached during earlier legs of the anniversary trek, offering fans in the Pacific Northwest, Southeast, and other underserved markets one last chance to experience the celebratory production live before the group steps back from the road.

The announcement comes on the heels of major career milestones for the group, including their recent induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of 2026. The upcoming final leg of the tour will culminate in a pair of high-profile festival headline appearances, closing out the run at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio, and the Boardwalk Rock festival in Ocean City, Maryland.

Bassist, founder, and principal songwriter Steve Harris shared insight into the decision to extend the touring schedule, noting that the band had originally intended to step away from live performances entirely in 2027. However, the overwhelmingly positive reception and sheer enjoyment of the recent North American dates prompted the members to reconsider and coordinate a final sweep of the continent.

“As many of our fans know, Maiden were planning on taking a break from live performances in 2027, but we’ve been enjoying this last leg in the USA and Canada so much that we all had a chat and decided we should take the show to parts we missed, particularly the North West and South East,” Harris explained. “It just seems fair to our many fans there who have given us tremendous support for so many years. We can’t get everywhere, but we can try!”

The decision to extend the itinerary also reflects the band’s enduring appetite for performance variety, including the festival circuit. While Iron Maiden has spent decades commanding massive stadium and arena audiences built largely on their dedicated global fanbase, Harris emphasized the unique energy that comes with playing multi-artist events where they must win over crowds beyond their standard demographic.

“Also, we have always enjoyed playing the many great festivals that are in Europe and wanted to experience a couple more in the USA which we will do at the end of the tour in Columbus and Maryland,” Harris said. “At festivals, you are not just playing to your own fans, so it’s always a challenge, and we all love a challenge!”

Iron Maiden Announce 2027 North American Tour Dates

The “Run for Your Lives” tour has served as a massive retrospective of the band’s legendary half-century history, celebrating a catalog that defined the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and influenced generations of musicians across the hard rock and heavy metal genres. With their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame cementing their status as cultural icons, the tour carries added significance for longtime followers who have tracked the group’s journey from East London clubs to international stadium headliners.

The newly scheduled third leg of the North American tour will kick off in mid-April 2027, taking the band through a swift succession of major arenas and amphitheaters across the United States and Canada.

The tour opens on April 14, 2027, at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington, before heading north of the border for a performance on April 16 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. The itinerary then sweeps down the Pacific Coast, stopping at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, on April 18, and moving into California for a series of dates starting with the Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland on April 20.

Continuing their journey through the Golden State, Iron Maiden will perform at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on April 22, followed by a major date at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino on April 24. From there, the band heads eastward, playing the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 26, before wrapping up the month of April with a performance at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas, on April 28.

As the schedule transitions into May 2027, the tour shifts its focus toward the American South and East Coast. The month begins with a pair of Florida dates, starting at the Benchmark International Arena in Tampa on May 1, and continuing at the iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on May 2.

The heavy metal legends will then make their way up through Georgia and the Carolinas, performing at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta on May 5, and the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh, North Carolina, on May 7. Moving further into the Northeast, the band is slated to play The Meadows Music Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut, on May 9, and the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York, on May 11.

The final leg will conclude with two major festival appearances that promise to test the band’s legendary live prowess against diverse crowds. Iron Maiden will headline the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio, on May 14, before bringing the curtain down on the North American tour with a final headlining performance at the Boardwalk Rock festival in Ocean City, Maryland, on May 16.
