Bonpoint and MoMA Partner on Impressionist-Inspired Children’s Capsule Collection

French luxury children’s apparel brand Bonpoint is joining forces with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City for a unique artistic collaboration. The partnership introduces a limited-edition capsule collection celebrating one of the museum’s most celebrated and universally recognized masterpieces: Claude Monet’s iconic “Water Lilies.”

This special venture marks a notable milestone for the heritage children’s wear brand, representing its very first official collaboration with a museum. Designed for children ranging from 6 months to 14 years old, the 16-piece collection translates the serene, impressionistic hues and ethereal beauty of Monet’s legendary canvases into wearable art for a younger generation.

The exclusive capsule collection is slated to launch on October 5, rolling out globally on bonpoint.com and across a curated selection of flagship Bonpoint boutiques worldwide, followed by its official U.S. launch on October 9.

The thoughtfully curated assortment comprises three distinct designs tailored for babies, seven ready-to-wear pieces designed for girls, and a selection of coordinating accessories. Pricing for the items spans a wide spectrum, starting at 30 euros for a delicate hairclip and reaching up to 365 euros for the label’s signature Duchess dress. This centerpiece garment features Bonpoint’s trademark smocking and intricate hand-embroidery, entirely reimagined in the tranquil blues, greens, and soft pastels that define Monet’s masterpiece.

The collaboration forms part of MoMA’s ongoing mission to foster unexpected and deeply meaningful ways for diverse audiences to engage with extraordinary works of art. Jesse Goldstine, chief retail officer at MoMA, emphasized the broader cultural impact of the partnership. Through this alliance with Bonpoint, Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies” transforms into an entirely new point of discovery for children and families. The initiative successfully extends the profound visual experience of the painting far beyond the physical walls of the museum and integrates it directly into everyday life and style.

The artistic narrative of the collection is rounded out by whimsical lifestyle details. The capsule includes a special edition of Bonpoint’s signature Cherry Doll, which is dressed in a meticulous miniature version of the signature Duchess dress. Additionally, a matching suitcase bag rendered in the collection’s impressionistic color palette completes the lifestyle offering.

Gala Sarmini Kressmann, chief marketing and digital officer at Bonpoint, reflected on the historical alignment between the two institutions. For nearly five decades, Bonpoint has dedicated itself to celebrating the essence of childhood through exceptional craftsmanship, maintaining a distinct aesthetic world shaped by beauty, culture, and boundless imagination. Because of these shared values, collaborating with an institution of MoMA’s caliber felt like a profoundly natural fit for the brand.

By bringing one of Claude Monet’s most iconic and revered masterpieces to life within this apparel and accessory capsule, the brand hopes to inspire children to dream, explore, and actively nurture their natural curiosity through the medium of art, Kressmann noted.

This creative partnership arrives during a period of dynamic evolution and heightened visibility for Bonpoint. Last year, the brand was acquired by the prominent Chinese fashion conglomerate Youngor Group. Following the acquisition, Bonpoint celebrated its significant 50th-anniversary milestone by making a triumphant return to the runway during Paris Fashion Week, marking its first runway presentation since 2019.

Over the past year, Bonpoint has strategically elevated its market presence and expanded its cultural footprint through a series of high-profile collaborations. These partnerships have spanned diverse sectors, including a capsule with Gigi Hadid’s acclaimed cashmere brand Guest in Residence, a joint venture with French-Japanese contemporary fashion label Maison Kitsuné, and an unexpected lifestyle collaboration with luxury carmaker Porsche.

Looking ahead, Bonpoint is maintaining its rapid momentum and preparing for the upcoming season, with plans to unveil its highly anticipated spring 2027 collection on October 3 during the official calendar of Paris Fashion Week.
