Victor Kan Brings Elevated Streetwear Sensibility to Timberland’s Iconic Euro Hiker

As the fall season reaches its midpoint, Timberland has established a steady cadence of coveted special-edition footwear releases. While the outdoor heritage brand’s classic Premium 6-inch Waterproof Boot continues to generate substantial industry noise—bolstered recently by seasonal drops like the Día de Muertos pack, studded women’s exclusives, and avant-garde collaborations such as the croc-covered boat shoes designed alongside Jacquemus—another foundational silhouette is stepping into the spotlight. The Euro Hiker, an iconic yet historically under-appreciated model in Timberland’s vast archive, has just received a sophisticated, highly anticipated update courtesy of seasoned footwear industry veteran Victor Kan.

Following an immediate and rapid sell-through at Kan’s New York-based boutique, Third of June, the designer and retail owner’s reimagined Timberland Euro Hiker Gore-Tex collaboration is preparing for its final, wider release. The drop arrives directly via Timberland’s official e-commerce platform, giving global consumers a final opportunity to secure a piece of modern footwear history.

For Kan, this collaboration represents a significant milestone in a career that has spanned more than a decade of close partnership with major players in the footwear and streetwear markets.

Timberland’s New Limited-edition Gore-Tex Boot Is Getting One More Release

“After working with Timberland closely for over a decade as a buyer and collaborator with various boutiques, I am now working with the brand under my own name,” Kan shared in a statement posted to Instagram. Describing the design approach for his debut solo project, he noted that the first iteration of the partnership uses the rugged Euro Hiker as a refined canvas. The design features sophisticated, muted tones of taupe suede and rich burgundy nubuck, complemented by dynamic silver mesh underlays. True to the functional demands of modern footwear design, the boot is fully lined with high-performance Gore-Tex technology, ensuring waterproof durability while sitting atop a stealthy, blacked-out midsole and outsole combination.

Kan’s thoughtful interpretation injects a distinct designer-inspired aesthetic into a model that has historically been celebrated for its pure utility. Timberland originally introduced the Euro Hiker back in 1988, conceiving it as a lightweight alternative designed specifically for day hiking. Unlike the brand’s heavier, traditional long-haul leather boots, the Euro Hiker was built with a nimble, sneaker-like construction that bridged the gap between outdoor performance and casual, everyday wearability. Over the decades, it has maintained a dedicated cult following among outdoor enthusiasts and urban explorers alike, though it has rarely enjoyed the high-fashion spotlight typically reserved for the 6-inch boot.

The man behind the curation brings an impressive depth of industry knowledge to the collaboration. With more than 13 years of professional experience under his belt, Kan initially cut his teeth as a dedicated footwear buyer at Kith, one of the most influential retail powerhouses in contemporary streetwear. He subsequently transitioned to Packer, a legendary retailer based in Teaneck, New Jersey, where he served as a buyer and brand director for eight impactful years. His extensive retail background and acute understanding of consumer tastes ultimately paved the way for his current entrepreneurial venture as the owner of Third of June in New York City. Despite his extensive portfolio of behind-the-scenes brand partnerships and retail curation, the Timberland Euro Hiker project marks Kan’s very first individual branded release under his own name.

The collaborative sneaker-boot arrives in an official colorway designated as Olive Suede and Gray, corresponding to style code TB0A2N24APC. Following its initial boutique rollout at Third of June, the Victor Kan x Timberland Euro Hiker with Gore-Tex is scheduled to launch on timberland.com, carrying a retail price of $195.
