Potter brings to Monotype more than twenty years of professional experience as a commercially focused operator. His career is characterized by a distinctive blend of expertise, marked by his ability to advise large, complex Fortune 500 companies on high-stakes growth strategy and operational transformation. Simultaneously, he has demonstrated a proven track record of leading execution and scaling initiatives within mid-sized organizations, successfully bridging the gap between high-level corporate advisory and hands-on enterprise management.
Before taking on his current leadership responsibilities at Monotype, Potter built a robust and varied career spanning multiple industries, private equity, and management consulting. Most recently, he served as President of Forpak Automation, where he applied his operational acumen to industrial manufacturing and technology applications. Prior to his tenure at Forpak, he held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Dunes Point Capital, a prominent mid-market private equity firm, where he worked closely with portfolio companies to accelerate commercial growth and enhance operational efficiency.
Potter’s foundational professional background was forged through rigorous environments in consulting and corporate finance. Earlier in his career, he spent nine years working in management consulting, focusing intensively on growth strategy and innovation for major clients navigating disruptive market shifts. He began his professional journey in General Electric’s prestigious Financial Management Program, an experience renowned for developing top-tier financial and operational leaders through disciplined training, analytical rigor, and rotational assignments within a massive global conglomerate.
