Potter steps into this expansive leadership role bringing more than 20 years of experience as a commercially focused operator. His professional background is defined by a distinctive blend of expertise, marked by an ability to advise large, complex Fortune 500 companies on intricate matters of growth strategy and operational transformation. At the same time, he has consistently demonstrated a proven capability to lead execution and scaling initiatives within mid-sized organizations, navigating the unique challenges and opportunities that scaling businesses present in competitive global markets.

Before taking on his current responsibilities at Monotype, Potter built a robust career spanning diverse industries, executive leadership positions, and strategic advisory roles. Most recently, he served as President of Forpak Automation, where he honed his skills in leading industrial and operational organizations. Prior to his tenure at Forpak, Potter held the position of Chief Commercial Officer at Dunes Point Capital, a prominent mid-market private equity firm, where he worked closely with portfolio companies to accelerate commercial growth and optimize market positioning.

His foundational career experiences laid the groundwork for this high-level executive trajectory. Earlier in his professional journey, Potter spent nine years immersed in high-level consulting, focusing intensely on growth strategy and corporate innovation. This extensive consulting background equipped him with analytical depth and strategic frameworks that he continues to apply to corporate governance and operational management. He officially began his professional journey in General Electric’s renowned Financial Management Program, an immersive corporate training initiative long recognized for developing top-tier financial and operational talent.

In addition to his executive responsibilities at Monotype, Potter remains actively engaged in the broader corporate governance landscape. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Strata Worldwide, a leading mining technology company known for delivering advanced safety, communications, and digital infrastructure solutions to the global mining sector. His board service allows him to bring his strategic insights and operational expertise to governance discussions outside of the technology and creative sectors, further broadening his leadership perspective.

Outside of his demanding corporate and board commitments, Potter maintains a balanced personal life. He resides in Massachusetts with his wife and three children. When he is not engaged in overseeing operations and driving growth strategy at Monotype, he can often be found enjoying outdoor pursuits, with a particular passion for golf and skiing.
